Evaluation of Drug Serum Protein Binding
by Fluorophore-sbp
Fluorophore-sbp reagent and the Fluorosome®
Solution FS-1 provides a rapid means to determine the binding
affinity of drugs to specific serum proteins.

The binding affinity, KD , of a drug
to two major serum proteins using Fluorophore-sbp
reagent.

The distribution and bioavailability of drugs can be strongly
influenced by their binding to serum proteins. Serum proteins
function in the circulatory system as carriers of drugs as
well as acting as drug reservoirs. The ability to characterize
the extent of binding of drug candidates to serum proteins
provides valuable information as to the state of the drugs
in the circulatory system.
The Fluorosome® Company offers Fluorophore-sbp
reagent for two major serum proteins, serum albumin
(SA) and alpha-1-acid glycoprotein
(AGP). These reagents in conjunction with the Fluorosome®
Solution FS-1 provide a rapid and sensitive
means to quantitate the binding of drugs to serum proteins.
